Fine motor & handwriting
Pencil grip, letter formation, scissor skills, hand strength and the endurance to get through a school day of writing.
Mobile OT — Sydney
Harry Archbold Occupational Therapy supports children and teenagers to build the practical skills that daily life asks of them — handwriting, self-care, coordination, attention and emotional regulation. Sessions happen where the skills are actually needed: at home, at school and out in the community.
About the practice
A skill learned in a clinic room does not always travel home. That is why this is a mobile practice — therapy takes place in the rooms, playgrounds and classrooms where your child needs the skill, with the people who are there every day.
Every plan starts with what matters to your family. Goals are set together, progress is explained in plain language, and you leave each session with something practical to try during the week.
Children and teenagers, with plans matched to their stage.
Sessions delivered wherever the skill is needed most.
You help set the priorities and you get the strategies.
What we help with
Assessment and therapy across the skills children need to take part in daily life. Most families come with a mix of these — a plan is built around your child, not a checklist.
Pencil grip, letter formation, scissor skills, hand strength and the endurance to get through a school day of writing.
Balance, ball skills, body awareness and the confidence to join in at the park, in PE and on the sports field.
Understanding how your child responds to noise, movement, touch and busy spaces, and building routines that help them stay regulated.
Dressing, toileting, mealtimes, sleep routines and the everyday tasks that build a child's independence and confidence.
Getting started, staying with a task, following instructions and managing homework, bags and morning routines.
Recognising big feelings, calming strategies that actually work for your child, and support for parents in the moment.
The process
Three steps from first phone call to therapy underway, so you know exactly what is coming.
A no-cost phone call to hear what is going on, answer your questions and work out whether OT is the right fit. No referral needed.
We gather the full picture through conversation, observation in your child's own environment and standardised assessment where it is useful. You receive a written summary and clear goals.
Regular sessions at home, school or in the community, with strategies for the rest of the week. Goals are reviewed together so you always know what is changing.
Meet your therapist
Principal Occupational Therapist
Harry is a registered occupational therapist working with children and teenagers across Sydney. He has supported families through developmental delay, autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, coordination difficulties and handwriting concerns, in both school and home settings.
Harry believes therapy works best when it looks like play and feels like a partnership. Sessions are practical and unhurried, parents are included rather than sent to the waiting room, and progress is explained without jargon. Where it helps, he works alongside teachers, speech pathologists and other clinicians already in your child's corner.
Paying for therapy
There are several ways families fund occupational therapy. If you are not sure which applies to you, ask — we will walk you through it before anything is booked.
We work with plan-managed and self-managed NDIS participants. Happy to talk through how OT sits within your child's plan.
If your GP has provided a Chronic Disease Management or Helping Children with Autism plan, some sessions may attract a Medicare rebate.
Most private health funds with extras cover include occupational therapy. Rebates depend on your level of cover.
Paying privately is straightforward — an invoice and receipt are emailed after each session, payable by bank transfer.
Current fee schedule available on request. Fees are in line with NDIS price limits.
Where we visit
This is a mobile practice — Harry comes to you. Sessions can run at home, at your child's school or childcare, or out in the community where a skill needs practising.
Outside these suburbs? Get in touch anyway - travel can sometimes be arranged, and telehealth is an option for some goals.
